O’ Christmas Tree Glass! I have been looking for “Christmasy” glasses to use during the holidays. I love nothing more than to wake up during the season and grab a cup of coffee and drink it out of a snowman mug. LOVE IT.
When coffee isn’t the ticket (which is hard to even think), cranberry juice is (or Sprite, Water or Tea). At any rate, it always makes us feel a bit more festive when we have holiday’s plates, cups or napkins to dine with. This year, I browsed through the stores and even Goodwill looking for a set of holiday glasses. I found none.
None that we liked anyways. What to do, what to do… Let’s make some!
Although a few others had the same idea this year & posted theirs already, we decided to go ahead and showcase ours too! Why not, right!
Here’s what we started with:
So, first I found a few glasses from Goodwill for only .59 cents a piece. (Such a great deal). Then I went and picked up a Porcelain marker from Michael’s Crafts, which was around $3… I fell in love with the less traditional “aqua” color. Imagine that.
Then I surfed the Internet for awhile and plopped a tree into photoshop, sized it and it became the template. So easy!
Next, I taped it to the inside of the glass…
Then I began tracing it…
After I un-taped each one, I decided to color the trees in to make them a bit darker and easier to see the design itself!
The directions on the marker recommended that I let the designs dry for a complete 24 hours before baking them. So I did!
After the drying process, the directions stated to bake the glasses for 35 minutes of 100 degrees c… which is 300 on “our ovens”!
After 35 minutes, I had baked two “Christmasy” Glasses! Literally.
They’re A Class Glass Act! Too Fun!!
What do you think? How about you? Have you DIY’ed your own Drinking Glasses for the holidays? Do Tell!
Psss.. Up next, the Christmas Tree Lighting!! Don’t Miss it!
