Why blogging?
The short answer is that my Husband, Dad and I had the idea of blogging back in 2008. My true passions are interior design, fashion and all things stylish. I love sharing ideas, helping others create a home sweet home and being a mom who encourages and inspires. Since starting as an interior design blog, ADS has evolved into a full lifestyle/fashion/ mommy/decor blog. Blogging gives me the platform to share my adventures in mommy hood, fashion finds, decorating tips, crafting ideas, diy projects, style secrets and recipes with readers from all over the world. I hope my blog is a space that inspires you!
Are you a professional interior designer?
Yes! I graduated with my Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design from the prestigious Ringling College of Art & Design. I have had over 15 years experience in high end residential, hospitality, commercial, boutique and healthcare design.
What kind of camera do we use to shoot our images?
I switched over to a Canon t3i shortly after I started blogging and I absolutely love shooting with it! Mostly, I just shoot on the go photos with my iPhone!

What are your Fresh Picks Posts all about?
It all started as a way to showcase my favorite finds. It quickly became one of the most popular posts on the blog so it became a monthly column that happens on the first of every single month! Come and check out a few here. I design the layouts in Adobe Photoshop and share items that hit my wishlist or items that I recently purchased. I also really enjoy hearing what made everyone else’s lists too, so comment and share!
How can you get connected with other like-minded moms who love decor?
No worries… I’ve got you covered! Come join the ADS community and start chatting!
What’s your family + living tab all about?
This is new for the site. I dreamed of blogging about family, living and everything in between. This tab is a diary style account where I can share recipes, budget posts, family ideas and more!
Do you accept any contributors?
Yes!! Actually, I would love to hear from you if you are interested click here.
Who designed your blog?
I work with Mike over at ClikWiz for all my website needs. On this latest blog design, we really worked together for endless hours on the functionality, design and over all look I wanted to achieve. I drew up countless mock-ups on Photoshop and Mike made everything come a reality. He’s great and has been a total blessing to me!
When do you publish new posts?
My post schedule is something I work hard on all the time. I will strive to post at 3x weekly. You can follow me on Instagram, Twitter & Facebook for updates!

Where did you and your Mr. meet?
I had just moved back from my hometown of Richmond, Virginia to Sarasota, Florida and started a new church back in the spring of 2008. I met Kevin the second week I attended the college/singles bible study. He later called one of the girl’s and got my number… He called and said he needed an interior designer and had a few questions. Those few questions turned into a few hours of conversation, an invite to his house for a “design consult” and dinner with a bunch of his friends that were coming over. I got there and there wasn’t a single friend over… not even one, but there was a meal being made and the table set up on the pool lanai. After that, we hung out frequently for about 2 weeks and that was it, we were inseparable. The rest is history 😉

Do you have any kids/pets?
Yes! … We have a 2 year old little boy… who just so happens to be the biggest blessing in our lives. His best buddy is a Shiatsu named Bentley, who came with me to our marriage as a package deal! We also have a cat named Tebow, who was a birthday gift for Kevin and happens to have seven toes on each paw. We fell in love with his paws and his fur color, since it happened to match my dog and my beloved striped wall in the living room. {I warned you I have matching issues}.
Does your home always look like the cover of a magazine?
I am a clean freak by nature and so is Kevin, which works out quite nicely. When we first got married, I was a bit of a super duper clean freak, now I just maintain! Our house is our home, the place we make memories… a mess every now and then is totally acceptable! Plus, now that we have a little guy running around, a messy house means memories are being made!
