Sometimes it’s the Smallest Things

I get excited over the “smallest things”. Seriously, it’s true, I do.

The weather is slowly but surely getting to feel more like Florida & I am thrilled. However, much like last year, it gives me the spring cleaning fever early! I can’t help it. Hey, the flowers look gorgeous, the sun is shining, it’s warm and to be honest spring arrives a bit early here anyways. That’s my excuse and I am sticking to it.

Anyways, in addition to my obsession with starting my spring cleaning early, my home is just calling out for some springy-ness! Believe me. I am going to resist the urge to fold out all my spring ideas too early, but I have had a few fun finds that I just had to mention…

It is no secret that I have a serious addition to all things aqua, & lately I have been craving some bright & (almost) girly accessories for the kitchen. Spring does that to me I guess.I found a few items in the last few weeks that I deem worthy of a little “cheap thrills post”!

First things first, you might remember from our DIY Pantry Project we did awhile back, that I found these canisters at a sharp discount and couldn’t resist. I am thinking about swapping out our white one’s with these for the spring.

I loved them so much it enticed me to look for more fun & cheap kitchen accessories I can use from time to time. Why pay a ton for items that only live in the space for just a little while, right? On my journey to finding a tea pot or other cute canisters, I caught a glimpse of an adorable canister that felt like it was made for my shelf. And it was.

Isn’t it so fun? I love it.

Next, my mom and I love Beauty and the Beast. It’s a classic and Mrs. Potts is just that adorable. {I love it so much Kevin surprised me last week for my b-day with tickets to Disney’s Beauty & the Beast Broadway show! It was amazing}. Anyways, our favorite is Mrs. Potts… you can totally see why…

Well, we happened to be out @ the Goodwill {p.s. our Goodwill is like a haven for brand new items & stylish, brand named home goods} and we immediately spotted this..

Looks a little similar to Mrs. Potts, right {the shape}?? Well, my mom talked me into it & with the $4 price tag {and it being brand spanking new}, she didn’t have to pull my leg too much.I added to our kitchen shelves and I love it.

Next, my mom knows from my post on adding new colors to our palette, that I am digging green… well; one of my b-day gifts was this frame from Tarjay {Target}. I love it.

I put it on the other shelf with a fun starfish cookie mold… it’s just that cute. I have so many pictures of us that I left it empty until this weekend {I plan on getting serious about getting some new pictures printed}.

Another fun addition to our kitchen is this bird dish. I am one of those gals who doesn’t wash dishes, cook, do crafts, paint or anything dirty in with my jewelry {mainly my wedding rings} on. I can’t help it… I love my rings and my husband worked hard for them so I treat them like gold. Instead of running upstairs to my jewelry box every time I want to put them away while I “work”, I usually place them in this fun little wedding cake box…

Well, now that can be moved and placed in our bathroom while this beauty takes its place… It’s a jewelry dish from Pottery Barn {a fantastic gift to me} and I love it. It is so me and it is coming in handy!

Lastly, I have been looking for a bright tray I could use for dual purposes. I wanted something I could use for an extra serving dish, for a tray on the coffee table and also for a miniature note taking area in the kitchen… you know for quick notes & to-do lists}… I found this green & aqua ceramic tray for a whopping $2 @ the Goodwill {it is brand new with the tags still on it from Home Goods}. Gotta love a steal of a deal. It works fabulously for all 3 purposes I had in mind…

The kitchen shelves are coming along… {not done… just coming along}…

Fun, right? Do you love the thrill of a good find? Where do you go for that steal of a deal? Do tell.

P.S. I made the cutest pillow last night… that post is coming soon!
