We Are Closing…

We have a fun announcement for you guys…

It’s been in the works for awhile, I just had to keep it a secret until now! It is an exciting day for us and we are thrilled about the fun news.

Well, today isn’t as exciting as the Royal Wedding {I married my prince almost 2 years ago in July}… although {no lie} I had a dream I was Kate Middleton’s friend last night…

Our news is ugly {for now anyways} AND it is the biggest news since the Royal Wedding. {We think so anyways}.

As you may know…

Kevin {my husband} is a realtor…

I am a professional interior designer…

And my Dad owns his own building company {my brother is his partner}.

We are combining our strengths, talents and ideas in a BIG way.

We have all had dreams of rehabbing older homes, and this is the perfect time to start this journey. The real estate market in Sarasota was one of the hardest hit areas in the downward economy. One good side, prices are lower and it makes it easy to get in and begin our dream.

We have been on the hunt for a perfect fixer upper to build life into, literally. We love a good challenge and can see past the ugly and rundown.

Today we are closing on this…

It’s quite possible the ugliest home ever. If you can get past the gross green exterior, boarded up windows, hole in the roof and sliding garage doors, you get to walk through the doors to find holes, lack of drywall, carpeted walls, slat walled bedrooms, ceilings caving in and more. Basically everything will be touched… EVERYTHING. The only thing that has grown attached to this house {besides us}, is the large oak tree on the left that is actually becoming part of the roof.

The home is actually in a great neighborhood {Kevin and I already own one house 2 streets down… we rent it out}. It’s the perfect house to start with… we plan on doing this again and again!

We close at 10 AM today and we are excited about getting in their and doing some demolition. We have major plans for the house!

We have big plans for it… big. It needs a complete {and I do mean complete} overhaul and it is going to get one too! So we hope you will follow us on this new endeavor…

In the coming days we will be showing you ALL of the details…

& more.

Now that our secret is out… I am off to make some last finish selections, do some shopping and get ready to watch the Royal Wedding tonight. We taped it so we could have family pizza night over our house!!

What do you think? Could you see past all of that ugly? Do you dream of rehabbing homes too? DISH IT…

This is soooo exciting! I can definitely see the potential.
This is the same dream my hubby and I have. He is a banker, but someday he would love to rehab homes and I would decorate them. We are just praying about it now. God will open doors if it is His will.

I think you are going to have a blast! I can’t wait to see the transformation. 🙂

    Blessings,
    Traci

Congrats on your new venture! Are you sure you’re not just going to level it? 🙂 My hub & I have always thought about re-habbing too, he’s handy and I’d do decor. Sounds like your family is perfect for it! Can’t wait to see to progress!
