DIY Art: Chevron & Butterflies

I mentioned just a few days ago that I am completely obsessing over the Chevron pattern.

In my quest to add a little spring décor to the house and satisfy my need want for Chevron, I had a few DIY projects to conquer. First things first, I love handmade prints, both graphic and crafty. I came up with a really inexpensive, fun and easy graphic & crafty print…

 I really just designed a Chevron pattern on Photoshop, if you don’t have Photoshop… sketch it out for a fun look, or use design software.

I bought 3 butterflies from Michael’s craft store and glued those on.

Then, I put it in a frame I already had.

SO EASY & FAST! I love how it turned out. It is whimsy, gardenesque and just the right amount of fun! It would look adorable in a little girl’s room… {Maybe one day}. In the mean time it is sitting on our dining room sideboard right beside the CUTEST orchid. {I got this fabulous Mini Orchid from Lowe’s}.

A few announcements:

1/ You might have recognized that we haven’t been updating the blog everyday with new posts. Yes, we are going to be getting back to the swing of everyday posts, I promise. We have actually been hard at work at revamping A Design Story. We mentioned a few times we have tons of plans for this year and we are getting to them for sure! There is TONS in the works and when the time is right, we will share each and every thing.

2/Love graphic prints & photography & t shirts? Our new shop will be chock full of all 3 & of course, home décor items as well. We are excited about the changes going on over here! We have of course mentioned the new shop at the end of last summer, but we have had tons to do to get this thing rocking & rolling!
