Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you all have a sweet day!! In honor of this lovey-dovey occasion, I made a yummy treat!
Most everyone knows how to make rice crispy treats… I actually didn’t until my mom showed me a few weeks ago. I know how to make a lot of things… but this is super easy and I can’t believe I haven’t been making these ALL THE TIME.
Well, as I confessed a few days ago, I am making them all the time now. I am a snacker by nature and this is the perfect crunchy{sweet} snack and they are gluten free. {Warning: they are totally addicting}.
Ingredients:
Gluten Free Honey Chex {You can use Rice Krispies too if you aren’t gluten free}
1 Bag of Marshmallows {I used the Strawberry Hearts for Valentine’s Day}
½ stick of Butter
Let’s get cookin…
1. Turn your burner to medium and begin to melt the butter.
2. Grease a glass casserole dish {I use butter}
3. Once the butter is almost completely melted, through in your bag of marshmallows and stir, stir, stir!
4. After your marshmallows and butter are nice and melted to an even gooey {thick} consistency, pour in your cereal {I use most of the box… I usually have enough for about 2 bowls of cereal left}.
5. Stir, Stir, Stir to get the cereal nice and covered with the marshmallow cream
6. Begin to dump the mix into the casserole dish and spread evenly. Take a spoon and smooth out the top to make it somewhat flat.
7. Leave to cool for just a bit
Also, I like the Honey Chex better than the old Rice Krispy cereal… better texture, crunchier… just delicious!
P.S. More Valentine’s Day fun coming your way later today! In the meantime, are you making any fun Valentine’s Day Treats?? Do Share with us!!
