True Blue Electric Shock

Falls usually boasts warm shades like browns, reds, burnt oranges and greens, which entices us to spice up our home with those hues for the season. The 2011 {and 2012} trend reports are showcasing the bright and the bold and the bodacious!

A few days ago, I was out shopping and I picked up a fabulous pair of cobalt blue skinny capris. Their bold and a bit loud, but oh SO FUN.  Ever since I purchased those, I see cobalt blue popping up everywhere from fashion magazines to celebs rocking the color {here’s Kim Kardashian} and even the stores are being stocked with the intense shade.

Since I heart my capri’s so much, I thought it might be fun to jump on the cobalt blue soul train and showcase a few of my other faves… you know… for your viewing and potentially impulse shopping pleasure!

Here’s the breakdown:

1. Artwork is a great place to start when you want to pop some color into your space. This piece, “Into the Blue”, is by Zgallerie and would look stunning in a foyer or even a living room. Add a few other blue accessories to a side table or shelves and a few decorative pillows and your space will look icy hot!!

2. Stools are great dual-purpose pieces for smaller spaces, porches or even poolside. Use them as a side table, extra seating or even as a foot stool. This bright and blue stool by Crate & Barrel will give your space a pop of color!

3. These jeggings are from American Eagle and priced at $44.50… If you are in “need” of these but need them a little cheaper, I found mine at TJMaxx and they rang in at $16.99. I have been pairing mine with some shiny black shoes, a t-shirt and a fun black jacket.

4. It’s no secret that I love nail polish, so of course I had to pick me up a bright blue to sport the hue! This one is from Essie for $8.

5. Throw rugs are always a great item to incorporate when you are trying to cozy up your space for the fall and winter. This rug is super inexpensive from Target and would be a great addition to a hallway, foyer or even kitchen!

6. It’s the season for hot tea, cocoa and coffee… this mug from Crate & Barrel would be a bright edition to your cupboard! Plus, sipping out of a cute mug makes your drink taste that much better 😉

7. Brighten up a black outfit with some bold blue shoes. These platform pumps are from Target and ring in at only $29.99!

8. Liven up your living room with this blue geometric side table from Crate & Barrel. Complete the look in the space by incorporating some art, accessories and a few pillows in the same shade!

9. This organic-looking bowl from West Elm is made in Japan and is both microwave and dishwasher safe {which is always a plus}. The outsides are textured and the insides have a beautiful blue pattern printed in them.

10. Dress up an outfit with this scarf from Ann Taylor… When I wear a plain t-shirt and jeans, I like to add a fun scarf to enhance the look a bit!

P.S. It’s the LAST DAY to sign up for the $50 Pottery Barn Giveaway… hurry and enter for your chance to win!!!

Yes, I have. I got them at Dillards. I think they are Gianni Bini. I really love this shade of blue! I’m a little bummed because last week I went from being blonde to brunette and most of my clothes, including my cobalt blue dress, doesn’t look as good with my hair being this color. lol

WOW.. I love Gianni Bini shoes… they are gorgeous!! So, you just went brown? I once did that and I didn’t recognize myself for a week 😉 I am sure the cobalt looks great on you… I love rich brunette hair colors… I wish I could pull it off!

I must get cobalt blue shoes now…love them! There was a cobalt purse I was lusting over at Nordstrom last fall too. I may have to do some searching for that again…

Aren’t those shoes great? I saw a few handbags when I was virtually ‘window shopping’… it would be a great addition to a black, gray or even brown outfit!! Thanks for stopping by!

This blue is perfect! We live in New Mexico where everything is white adobe and wood tones. This blue will be the perfect accent color. Thank you!
