A couple of weeks ago, my Mom, Brother and I went on a little afternoon scavenger salvage hunt. We planned on stopping by two salvage places, one we had been to before, and the other we had seen driving by.
We drove a little north for the first stop to the Sea Hagg, where we discovered floor-to- ceiling one-of-a-kind treasures. Literally, the inside and out is packed with fun nautical items to look at. From authentic anchors, fish nets, brass port holes, antique buoys, and the finest of ship’s instruments to watercolors and glass-blown fish created by this area’s most talented artisans, they have it ALL.
I absolutely LOVED these lights. Wouldn’t they look great in a reallu industrial kitchen?
I also think this lantern would look great on a back porch {especially for BBQ’s & backyard summer parties}…
I also love, love the color aqua {if you have read my blog before… this is not a surprise}… wouldn’t these look great on a white mantel or even table as decor? Great addition for spring & summer…
The Sea Hagg also has tons of buoys, paddles and wheels {all of which are really great for cottage, beachy and nautical styled interiors}!
They also had plenty of doors, shutters and wooden signs. I absolutely loved this soft green door. I think it would be a great DIY project… maybe a headboard or even turn it into a desk top and add legs. Adorable!
Remember watching the Titanic and seeing them controlling the engine with the “Chadburn” Marine Telegraph Pedestal {I called 2 people and searched google for the name of this thing}? Well, they have one of those too! {P.S. I love that huge glass jar beside it too}.
Isn’t the Sea Hagg so fun {even if you only toured it virtually}? If you are local or come on vacation to Sarasota, Florida… you have got to stop in! They have so much to look through!

The next stop, Sarasota Architectural Salvage {which by the way has been scouted out by American Pickers}. We spotlighted S.A.S awhile back in a post about Salvage Eye Candy. We love this place!! They have unique items from all over the world.
Like these pieces: AMAZING!
Isn’t this vintage table ADORABLE? I love it! It would be such a cute desk in a little girls room!
The amount of iron {shutters, gates, sculptures} they have as incredible. If you bundled a few you could use them as art or even a headboard.
Vintage finds… take a look at this stove/oven from the 50’s… I love, love it! Everyone knows I love a claw foot tub like the rest, but this one is miniature… it is for a baby. How sweet!! If someone handy just re-vamped this, it could be really sweet!
Mermaids, mermaids. I absolutely adore mermaids {this probably started with Disney’s Little Mermaid back in my childhood]. The iron one’s on the right are my favorite. They come in all sizes and would look great in my guest room!
We had such a fun day scouting out these salvage places {FUN DAY}. Sometimes it is nice to just spend the day with some family and browse through salvage or thrift stores just to see what treasures there are out there!
So, tell me… do you enjoy salvage shopping {or looking}? Have a favorite place you go? Let us know & comment below!

Love the aqua glass power insulator thingys (at least that’s what I think they are!) and I love the white/red table. I’m pretty sure we have the same table in our shed. It was in the shed-that-was-falling-in-on-itself when we bought the house and we salvaged it for our new shed as a work table.

Total treasures! I went antiquing with my hubs this weekend and we found so many awesome things. Though he may or may not have called me a hoarder in the process =) I so am not!
Def try the veggie pineapple sushi! It’s DIVINE! <3 and if you make it — take photos! I'm doing a feature on blog friends making my recipes and would love to link you in on the fun! <3
