When I was a little girl, I was given the most beautiful Victorian dollhouse stocked full of furniture, accessories & vintage dolls. I loved it. I wished I still had it. Believe it or not, my doctor gave it to me. It was one of my favorite toys. I hope to have a little girl one day just so I can play with her doll house!! {What can I say, I like to play house}.
As an interior designer, I get newsletters and information of fun & upcoming materials, textiles & finishes weekly, it keeps me on the up & up of what’s happening in my industry. I love all of the magazines I get too, but certain one’s are only for my trade and have all kinds of interesting articles on future design conferences & what’s going on in our little interior designer/ architect bubble. Lindsay, I’m not sure about those. Kids like color. If they were more colorful, I think they would be attractive to a certain market. I wonder if they’ve done a focus group with kids to see which one they would play with if same design: a colorful one or a non-colorful one. It looks more like a grownup-thinks-this-is-cute-because-it-is-a-real-house-just-miniature. kwim? So I don’t know if that makes it a desired kids toy. Similar to furniture designers that make mini adult furniture for kids but forget that the pieces shouldn’t have sharp corners or exposed metal legs. The wooden family looks super scary too! 🙂

I totally AGREE. Kids do love color… I just had to blog about this because there is no doubt about it.. they are STUNNING. Just not for kids!!
