Reader’s Tell All: All Made Up?

Housekeeping… Making the Bed

Lately we’ve been revamping our cleaning schedule to perfect our tidy home. We are pretty much clean freaks over here at the Milner Residence. We sat down before we said our “I-Do’s” and discussed how we would like to divide up our tasks… like who will take the garbage out, who will do the grocery shopping etc. Well, this week we figured it was worth tossing one of the questions out to you guys: is a made bed a morning must in your home? Or do you love a casual messy bed to fall into at night?

If the sight of a tidy, crisply made bed and perfectly placed pillows suits your fancy, who’s responsible for pulling it together every morning? Or if you favor the more relaxed method, is it because you take pleasure in hassle-free living, or do you think there’s something romantic about an unmade bed?

So, what’s your routine at your house when it comes to making the bed? Take the poll & Do tell us why you love those tightly tucked sheets or the feel of slipping into a loose, lumpy bed?

What about us? Kevin is usually up earlier than me, so I usually make it. We stick to the plan that whoever gets out of the bed last has to make it!! It works for us! How about you?

I’m all for a made bed, but I keep my bed linens simple so I don’t have to fuss over much in the a.m.! Just straighten the four pillows and the duvet {usually, around the cat *lol*} and I’m done!

I usually don’t make the bed because no one will see it until it’s time to go to sleep and it gets un-made, so I always wondered what the point is. However, lately I’ve started making the bed occasionally as a way to prevent myself from crawling back into bed after my morning shower, haha. I’m clearly not a morning person!

I like it all made up for sure! Though I have to agree with jenny I always wondered the point but now being married and with kids its just the felling of accomplishment that all things are very tidy! And my husband is a super clean freak…. so it would get done if i did or not! Usually I make the bed because I am the last one out of it unless the babies had a hard time sleeping, but on the weekends its fair game who ever is up last makes the bed in this house and then has to make all the babies beds 🙂 Its worth it to sleep in!

My husband is obsessed with having the bed made! He just doesn’t feel right about the day until it’s made. haha.
