Happy 1st day of summer! The season has now been made official, even though we have been feeling it here in Florida for quite some time now! With the season changing, we thought it was about time for another Reader’s Tell All…
Spring and summer are by far my favorite seasons. I love the warmth of the sun, the blooming of flowers, the fresh veggies & fruit salads and the sand between my toes. I love everything about summer! And since today is the official 1stday of 2011 summer, I thought it might be fun to get festive with the season and get beachy! We live in a beach town {which I LOVE}… it happens to be voted the #1 beach in the USA this year. Siesta Key is absolutely beautiful and we pinch ourselves weekly to think we actually live in such a tropical paradise all the time.
Anyways, I was at the beach last week and I thought it might be fun to take a break from home decor and talk sunshine for a bit. Are ya with me? If you are anything like me, when you go to the beach or poolside, you want to feel prepared. You know… cute beach bag, beach necessities inside and fun towels and flip flops. Since I have a deep desire obsession to match, I have a few beach bags and towel sets I take to the beach depending on my suit or mood…

1. Sunscreen by Banana Boat & Neutrogena {We use them all… we live in Florida}
2. Pink Baseball Cap… {in case I get too much sun on my face… freckles love me}

4. A book… I just started the Karen Kingsbury Sunrise Series
5. Beach Towel Clips by Bed Bath & Beyond {These are fantastic because they keep your towel on your chair & from blowing in the breeze}
6. Beach Bag by Isaac Mizrahi for Target {Last Year’s Bag}
7. Water Bottle by Bed Bath & Beyond
8. Water Spray Bottle {Put water in it and refrigerate the night before you go… then keep it in cooler & mist when needed}
9. Gold Flip Flops by Target

We usually pack enough for the beach to feel like we are moving out there… we like to stay for the day! In fact, our family {all 14 of us & counting} like to also go after all the ‘boys’ get off work and have a fun night on beach picnicking, playing in the sand, finding seashells and watching the sunset. We have a blast.
