I absolutely L-O-V-E Valentine’s Day! I always have actually. It probably all started when I was little… I was {and still am} a girly girl and Valentine’s Day is my holiday! In addition to being a flirty and girly holiday, it is close to my birthday {February 6th} and my mom always decorated my birthday parties in hearts and pink. I loved it {and still do}… In fact, {call me a dork if you want to} I still ask for Valentine plates and napkins for my birthday dinner/dessert.
I don’t always decorate for every holiday {we exclude St. Patrick’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day… you get the idea}, but I decided to adorn our home with a little Lovie-Dovie décor for Valentine’s Day!
First comes first, we’ve mentioned before that we don’t have a fireplace {we live in paradise}, so decorating a mantel is a bit difficult! However, we have this fun bench/hutch that I use for seasonal decorating.
I took the “Love” sign off our bedroom wall {you can see it in this Webisode Wednesday}, took the mirror out of the pantry and the candle holders & candles from the stair well and created a romantic vignette. I hung the glittery heart I bought from Joann’s this year {for only $5} from the middle hook. It was really simple, easy and inexpensive! To top the mirror off, I added a pink wooden bow I had gotten from Goodwill awhile ago. I ABSOLUTLE LOVE IT!
What do you think? Although it is really girly and my home usually isn’t, it is fun to add in pink for the occasion!!
Next, I decorated the sofa table {which is right across from the bench/hutch}. For the top, I made a new cake plate, added M&M’s to the apothecary jar, added some stick hearts {from the Dollar Store} to a small glass vase, displayed a glittery pink heart plate and also framed a Photoshop print out ‘Bee Mine’. To the bottom shelves, I just added a flowery tea cup, added a grosgrain pink ribbon to a porcelain bowl, included my white porcelain ‘girl’, a fun pink vase {which will hopefully be filled by the husband with beautiful flowers… hint, hint} and last but not least a ceiling embellishment! Yep, I found this baby a while ago and just added some pretty scrapbook paper to the back to complete the Valentine’s look!
Then, I added one little touch of love {pun intended} to the bookshelf in our living room… I created the print in Photoshop and put it in an empty frame… loving how cute it is!
The last thing I did turned out pretty cute too! Remember my Christmas/ Winter ‘Mantle’ design? I used the same idea as the mitten frame and just changed out the design to a ‘LOVE’ one I created in Photoshop. It sits on the stairwell… really cute!!
P.S. Want your hands on any of these Print-Outs? We heart our readers… so we made them all for you to download and use! Enjoy!Bee Mine
So, What do you think? Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day? Have you made anything?
