O Christmas Tree, O Christmas tree,
How lovely are your branches!
We mentioned a few weeks ago that we decided to buy a new tree this year… one with white lights. Although we love our tree with the classic colored lights, we thought it might be fun to dress up two trees this year! {Yes, two full size trees}. One with sparkle and “modern” ornaments and one with our old classic ornaments.
We sought and found the perfect tree, brought it home and put it up that night! With more than 700 frosted and clear white lights, it just sparkles in our living room! For this tree, we went with aquas, reds, silvers and a few other “cutesy” embellishments!
Don’t get me wrong, we love a “designer, right out of the magazine” looking tree, but our house is our home and we “live” in it! We like the classic ornaments… we just added a few of our favorites too…
8 of our Favorites (even though we have more)…
1. Our Wedding Ornament
2. Ornament from Week 2 of Honeymoon~ Cancun
3. Ornament from Week 1 of Honeymoon~ Bahamas
4. Ornament from when we were dating
5. Vintage Glass Ornament with Gold Embellishments
6. Handmade Felt Penguin
7. Handmade Felt Mitten
8. Kevin’s Birthstone Shoes from when we he born!
In addition to the Silver Star topper, we added a few glittery aqua spiral sticks to the top for some personality. We love it! The tree skirt was something Kevin was given before we were married… it works for now! {The sled… that post is coming later}…
We also added a few festive accessories to the coffee table! A green mercury glass (I got from Goodwill for only $1.00), A Southern Living Christmas Book, a vintage milk glass bowl with a candle and some mini-ornaments, and a glass full of colorful mini-ornaments.
Have you decorated your tree yet? Did you do anything different this year? Do Tell!

Looks great, and I really like the blue spiral wires! I agree about your tree philosophy … I like my tree to look pulled together and great, but we live with it, so I always include some personal ornaments 🙂
