Blogiversary I: The Plan, Stan

I realized that after almost a year {yes, the first blogiversary week is here}, we hadn’t shown you the floor plan of our casa!

In addition to our blog being about interior design, budget décor, e-decorating, inspiration, DIY, crafts, recipes, interior design tips and tricks {& so much more}, it is also a diary style account of our own homes happenings!

So, in order to give you a better idea of our home when we show you new ideas, rooms and décor, we thought it might be a good idea to show you the plan! {Finally}. I drew up our plan in Autocad and plopped it into Photoshop for a little rendering…

In total, we have about 2,048 Sq. Ft. to play with. It is a town home and we love it!

Here are a list of our rooms and just a few of the progress post {or fun mentions} on each one:

I am seeing a ‘need’ for more posts about our home, style, finds & more. No problemo… it is coming!

Our home is always changing and is a forever work in progress. Let’s get real, I am an interior designer and quite frankly, I don’t want my house to ever be ‘done, done’. As we mentioned {here with early pictures}, we don’t plan on being here for years, our home works for us right now. Kevin is a realtor, so we are always searching for our next place…. And will keep you updated when we start getting serious about moving. Originally, we had planned on being here for a year or two… well in August {2010} marked a year already and we are still just as smitten with the place as the day we got it! Who knows, we like it here so much we might even have our first baby here {again… we will keep you on the up and ups when that happens}.

In the meantime, our home has gone through tons of changes in the short time we have been here and we still have tons of to-do’s to check off. So, let’s talk shop, shall we?

Kitchen:

Not loving the color… thinking about a change

New Rug

New Towels {I am DIY’ing a few… can’t wait for you to see}

New Dish set {Ours are stoneware and aren’t holding up so great}

Dining Room:

Powder Room:

Utility Room:

Paint

Living Room:

New Rug

New Lamps

New TV Stand {One that sits a bit higher}- Working on this now

New Sofa {Eventually}

Porch {Downstairs}:

Just got new plants so this can be checked off

Master Bedroom:

Paint

2 Night Stands {we have temporary one’s right now}

2 Matching Lamps for the Night Stands

Rug

Master Bathroom:

Paint

Porch {Upstairs}

Outdoor Rug

New Plants

Hallway {up the stairs}:

Gallery Wall {just have to finish it}

Office:

{We need a major overhaul… for some reason; this room has been the last to be touched}

Paint

New Desks & Chairs

Guest Room:

Paint

{Might wait on the paint because I am crossing my fingers that it won’t be the guest room that long}

P.S. Most of our home is light tan, beautiful shades of aqua, white, & chocolate brown {and I do love the hues}… see:

In addition to loving aqua, I LOVE navy blue too {I think it stems from loving the US Navy’s uniforms, who doesn’t right}. Anyways, I am loving navy and also yellow or green and am thinking about incorporating the shades a bit in the future. I love a bright home and although grays are all the trend… I deem an entire house of it to be a bit ‘parking garage-ish’. So here is a few fun boards with some new color inspiration:

Adding Navy to the existing scheme:

Adding a cheerful yellow to the existing scheme:

And last… a little bit of ‘green to the scheme’:

Have questions about the plan.. maybe a few thoughts? Is your home a work in progress too?

We wanna know… comment below!

P.S. Sign up for the giveaway this week… the prize is a real beaut!
